In the centre of leicester this Good Friday, (10th April) there is street theatre. Costing over 50K to put on, this is a unique opportunity to witness a dramatic reconstruction of the events which changed the world at the start of the first millennium.

Look out for a certain hotel owner playing the murderous Barrabus- the first man for whom jesus died on the cross!

A fly-by-night hotel guest declared to me that previously they had been assaulted. . . by a ghost. For a brief moment, I considered asking questions to clarify this, but only for a moment.

Sent this to the paper but they never published.

Has the recession made you a cross thief?
Have you seen a cross thief lately? We've all heard of lead being stolen from church roofs, but now, they are taking crosses from Leicester's only Christian Hotel, Campbells. Owner Paul Campbell says. 'Actually I'm usually quite pleased if they take the Gideons Bible from the rooms, but I rather liked that lovely old wrought iron cross. My late grandfather, James Reeve, a sub-editor at the Eastern Daily Press in Norwich, gave it to me.

If you know any crooks that have suddenly become all religious give me a call !

What a great location. Supermarket, football, rugby, tool shop, pubs and churches all within a three minute walk. If I was anywhere else I'd spend all day driving around for stuff.

Whoops a recession! Better promote my jolly hotel online. No more static websites, time to embrace this new social media technology.

This blog is going to chart the comings and goings of the Campbells' hotel in Leicester. People say were like Fawlty Towers, though no one ever sees things from Basil Fawlty's perspective! I prefer Rigsby in Rising Damp anyway, though we have far superior furnishings. Well quite a lot better.

Like the TV programmes we get an assortment of guests, friendly, respectable and eccentric. Fortunately the eccentric ones don't know how to blog yet.

We have free wi-fi, a bar and lounge, giant TV and a friendly atmosphere. Why not join us.
